Where My Floristry Journey Began: The Bath Flower School

Updated: 3 days ago

Every journey has a starting point, and for me, it all began at the Bath Flower School. I’ve always been drawn to creativity, nature, and the art of design, but it wasn’t until I found floristry that I truly felt like I’d discovered my calling.

I’ll never forget the moment I decided to take the plunge into floristry. There was something about flowers—their colour, texture, and the joy they bring—that spoke to me on a deeper level. It wasn’t just about arranging blooms; it was about creating experiences and transforming spaces.

So, I took the leap and enrolled at the Bath Flower School, and oh boy, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The school provided everything I needed to kickstart my career in floristry. From mastering the fundamentals of floral design to exploring the creative aspects of styling, I absorbed everything like a sponge. The hands-on experience was invaluable, and I had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing florists and mentors who helped shape my skills and approach.

The training wasn’t just about learning how to create beautiful bouquets and arrangements—it was about understanding the heart and soul of floristry. I learned how to select flowers that not only looked beautiful together but also had the right vibe and energy for every occasion. I learned the importance of balance, colour, and structure, but also how to break the rules and think outside the vase to create something unique and bold.

What I took away from my time at the Bath Flower School was not just technical knowledge but a deep love for floristry as an art form. It gave me the foundation I needed to start my business and bring my vision to life. And that vision? To create florals that are modern, fresh, and full of personality.

Since then, I've taken my skills from the classroom to real-life weddings, styled shoots, and countless floral projects. Each one is a new opportunity to push my creativity, experiment with new designs, and make someone's day just a little bit more magical with the power of flowers.

Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for my time at the Bath Flower School. It gave me the tools and confidence to pursue my passion, and it set me on the path to creating bold, vibrant, and joyful floral designs for couples and clients who want something a little different.

So, if you’re just starting your own floral journey—or if you’re simply curious about how a love of flowers can turn into a full-blown career—remember that it all starts with taking that first step. For me, that first step was at the Bath Flower School, and I’ve never looked back. Shout out to both saffy & verity for the most incredible introduction to this flower power world.
